CBL Data Recovery Cuts RAID Data Recovery Time

NORTHAMPTON, U.K. -- CBL Data Recovery Technologies Limited, one of UK’s leading data recovery services has announced the deployment of a new software utility that will radically reduce the time it takes to recover data from crashed multiple disk RAID arrays. The OmniRAID software used in conjunction with CBL’s Remote RAID Response Service uses very low level coding that enables recovery without the necessity of having to ship the entire server.

Jeremy Brooks, Head of Research and Development for CBL UK said, “Systems managers put a lot of faith in RAID but they fail just like any other type of technology, to recover data from a 6 disk RAID array can take experts days but by automating many of the laborious tasks, we can reduce this to a few hours.”

OmniRAID has been designed to work with any RAID vendor or combination of controllers, scheme or encoding system. Developed by Brooks at CBL labs in the Centre for Advanced Industry in Newcastle, OmniRAID is part of an ongoing strategy to create innovative tools to reduce the costs and response time of data recovery from any media or operating system.

Brooks adds, “Smaller data recovery firms simply avoid complex jobs like recovering RAID because the store bought tools simply don’t exist for RAID and to manually configure system to help recovery requires a extreme high degree of technical knowledge and it is very time consuming.”

OmniRAID has already been successfully used within CBL’s world wide network of 11 labs in 5 countries and is now available as part of CBL’s Remote RAID Response Service.
